The Madonna Marsden International Travel Grant for Individuals presenting at the National Conference or attending the International Popular Culture Conference
For 2008, the Endowment Board has decided to award 10 grants @ $500 each. This grant is open to both International scholars and United States-based academics. These travel grants are named after the late Madonna Marsden, a teacher/scholar/writer/editor who was part of the Popular Culture Association and the American Culture Association from their formative years and throughout her career.
The Madonna Marsden award supports travel by individuals not resident in the United States to the national PCA/ACA meeting each year. It also supports travel by US citizens to the PCA/ACA international conference which is held every other year. This grant may not be used to travel from Alaska or Hawaii to the contiguous 48 states and vice versa. People seeking funds for such travel should apply for a Schoenecke or Rollins Award.
Applicants should complete the application process detailed below and submit it electronically to Michael.Schoenecke@ttu.edu no later than December 15, of the year prior to the national conference. Please note that applicants may apply for only one Endowment grant in a given year.
To be considered for the Madonna Marsden Travel Grant, individuals must
- fill out the application form appended below

a) the thesis and scope of the presentation
b) the extent to which the paper reflects and contributes to the study of Popular Culture and/or American Culture Studies
